On the morning of December 12, the 2024 Game Charity Ceremony, guided by the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association (CADPA), organized by CADPA’s Game Working Committee and its Special Committee on Game Industry Research, and supported by the People’s Lingjing Research Institute and other organizations, was successfully held at the Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing.
As a flagship event of the 2024 China Game Industry Annual Conference, the ceremony aims to provide a rational, in-depth, scientific, and engaging platform for showcasing charitable initiatives within the gaming industry. It seeks to offer the public more valuable insights into philanthropy, promote advanced public welfare concepts, establish more practical charitable models, and effectively highlight the positive social value of the gaming sector. To better showcase the charitable practices of the gaming industry, People’s Daily Online launched a public call for submissions in September, inviting game companies to present their philanthropic cases. Following expert reviews and evaluations, the selected cases were compiled into the 2024 Outstanding Game Charity Casebook, which was officially released at the Ceremony. Among those selected were two initiatives from ZX Inc. (Tanwan Game): “Beast Lord: The New Land and Giant Panda ‘Meng Lan’ Join Hands for a Green Action”, and “Hope·Future – Tanwan Public Welfare” Summer Camp”
ZX Inc. (Tanwan Game) continues to pioneer innovative models for integrating gaming + charity, engaging more players in philanthropic initiatives, and using games as a medium to spread positive energy and advance social welfare. In August, in collaboration with the China Green Foundation, the company launched a special panda-themed event within its strategy game Beast Lord: The New Land, encouraging players to join the “Panda Guardians” project. This initiative contributed to the restoration of panda habitats and the protection of the ecological environment. As a result, ZX Inc. (Tanwan Game), on behalf of all participating players, donated 20 mu (approximately 1.3 hectares) of bamboo forest to the China Green Foundation.
During the 2024 “Jiujiu Charity Festival”, the company partnered with Tencent Charity and the China Green Foundation to initiate the “Protect Panda Habitats: Walk to Donate Bamboo” campaign. Employees and players formed walking teams to participate in step-donation activities, contributing to the restoration of panda habitats. Based on the total number of steps contributed, it donated funds to the China Green Foundation’s “Panda Guardians” project to plant bamboo forests and improve the ecological environment for giant pandas.
The “Hope·Future – Tanwan Public Welfare” Summer Camp” is a philanthropic educational program launched by ZX Inc. (Tanwan Game), dedicated to promoting scientific knowledge and enhancing digital literacy among young people. Aimed at students and teachers, the program integrates study tours, company visits, cultural experiences, and art exchange activities. Participants gain immersive exposure to Cantonese culture, explore cutting-edge internet technologies, broaden their horizons, and foster enthusiasm for the digital and high-tech sectors, while cultivating sound values and digital citizenship. To date, the camp has been successfully held for four consecutive years, with over 100 teachers and students taking part.
Looking ahead, ZX Inc. (Tanwan Game) will continue to expand the boundaries of philanthropy, further exploring the possibilities of gaming + charity. The company will work closely with a wider network of public welfare partners to foster a positive social atmosphere in which charitable initiatives become a shared concern of society, thereby contributing to the building of a better and more harmonious community.
